1 Cowl Design – 3 Ways

I’m sure you agree with me that one of the nicest things about crocheting your own cowl is that you can use any yarn and any color that you please. So when Salena Baca did this easy crochet cowl pattern we were not sure which yarn to use to please the most people. So we asked her to do the same pattern in 3 different yarns – Red Heart Soft, Boutique Treasure and Boutique Unforgettable. And we chose colors that were as different as we could.

We used neutral Greyscale for the Soft cowl
LW4779 Easy Shadows Cowl

Muted Watercolors for the Boutique Treasure cowl….
LW4780 Anytime Cowl

Bright, colorful Parrot for the Boutique Unforgettable cowl.
LW4782 Easy Tropical Cowl

The three patterns have small variations in the number of stitches in the beginning chain and the number of rows varies. But they all use the same hdc stitch pattern with every other row worked in the back loop and then alternate rows worked through the front loop.

Hopefully seeing the same stitch in different colors and yarns will help you know which will fit into your own life and wardrobe best. Or if you are like me, some days you feel like being bright and other days you might want to fade into the background. Don’t they say variety is the spice of life?

I’m thinking this is the perfect go to pattern for gifts. I can make it in a number of different yarns and colors! No fitting problems…Perfect gift!

Dear Rachel, Thank you for your question, but we do not have this particular pattern in a knit version.

I like this presentation of 3yarns, same cowl! It’s hard to picture how a project would look using different yarns….. Especially when you love so many, as I do when it comes to the Boutique line. I never tried “Soft”, and it looks like I’ve been missing out! Gonna try this.

Where the heck is the link to the pattern? Or am I just missing it?

I am so disappointed that there was not at least one knitted pattern, truly disappointed that Red Heart seems to forget the knitters that love their yarn.

Could you please revert to your former method of providing pattern instructions! Download does NOT WORK as I get error message “An add-on for this website failed to run.” I would love to have instructions for some of your nifty crocheted items but the download prevents me from getting them!
