Each month of 2015 we featured a special throw pattern. You may have saved them (or some of them) to your favorites list in redheart.com. We’ve combined all 12 of these outstanding Throws of the Month into an easy-to-view eCalendar for the New Year. You can either print out the whole calendar, or print out just the pages for the current month. You can also use it in the digital version…just download it to your computer’s desktop for easy reference any time you need a calendar.
I have always wondered what inspires a person to download a pattern. Is it the photograph/model, color of the project, the yarn, interesting stitches, skill level or is it just the right project. Personally, I have a project in mind and begin my search by narrowing the field. No matter what the reason is we are thrilled to be able to bring you so many free patterns on RedHeart.com. Click on and let the search begin.
When I first met Red Heart Cordial, I thought it was the perfect cord for macramé. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it could be crocheted into such usable, durable, great-looking items. If you see it in the store it looks like a stiff ball of yarn. Like this…
When you crochet with it, it magically becomes perfect for all sorts of things. So I think of it as a “cord that you can either use for macramé knotting or for crochet”.
Our wonderful graphics department is always extremely busy, but when I suggested giving our Red Heart lovers some gift tags they responded enthusiastically! The 10 designs that they have come up with are perfect for all the hand-made items that I have in the works. We hope you will enjoy using them for your gifty creations!

Do you have kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that love dinosaurs? Man my nephew, Chandler, sure does! He even knows how to pronounce a lot of their names…and he’s only 5! I remember learning about them in elementary school and how fascinating they were. Then I saw the first Jurassic Park and was terrified for days. ;)

As I sat watching the leaves change colors each weekend this fall, I realized that Christmas would be here before I knew it. What would I do for my yearly craft? This year I decided to add a bit of Glam to the holidays with a tree made with Red Heart Boutique Swanky yarn. The sequins made for an already decorated look to a very simple project. This project does not take a lot of time but yields a beautiful and glamorous look to the holiday decorations.
Isn’t it wonderful how knitters and crocheters can make gifts that are a bit more personal and unique than store bought?! One of my favorite ways to give bottles of wine is to dress them up a bit with a knit or crochet bottle topper. These bottle garments are perfect to have on hand for last minute invitations and get-togethers during the holiday season.
Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house? I am not quite ready to put up Christmas decorations, but it’s never too late to start making some. I like to finish the Thanksgiving dishes before I put the tree up. To help with your decorations I have come up with a dozen ornaments that I really like. This list includes five knit, five crochet, and two crafty ornaments for you to choose from. These can be used on your tree, to embellish your wrapped packages or as hostess gifts. There are plenty more to check out on RedHeart.com.
