I think it is safe to say that we have had one dreadful Winter so I thought I would bring you hope for better days with some Spring and Easter designs. Even if it is still cold and a little dreary where you live I hope these wonderful designs will make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Speaking of Fuzzy, let’s take a look at some adorable Easter bunnies.
The industry lost an important leader, educator and author when Jean Leinhauser passed away in 2012. Though her first career was in public relations, her passion was education. She was one of the founders of Leisure Arts. After leaving Leisure, she started the America School of Needlework with business partner Rita Weiss. It started as a school but soon turned into one of the industry’s leading publishing companies known by the acronym ASN.
Have you ever found a project that you just haaaaad to make then once you got started you realized how much work had to go into and soon the project became a UFO (unfinished object)? Well, that is precisely what happened here. Back in November, I was flipping through the January 2014 issue of Crochet Today and found this beautiful Ali Cape. I had never attempted a cape or poncho before so I thought now is the time! Kudos to you poncho and cape designers, knitters and crocheters out there! I now know the time and effort you put into projects like this. I started this project in November and just finished last week. But, to give myself some credit, I put the project aside multiple times to make Christmas, birthday and baby gifts and eventually came back to it. So I didnt completely give up, I’d just rather say, I took my time. ;)

Who: Anyone who wants to knit or crochet an 8″ x 8″ inch square or 8″ x 16″ rectangle is invited to participate.
What: Help us take Manchester by storm and donate a knitted or crocheted square or rectangle swatch to our Yarn Bombing event. All are encouraged to participate in the event whether you are a knitter or crocheter. Not attending the conference? That’s okay too! Get your guild or chapter involved, create swatches, and follow the conference on Instagram to see images of our Yarn Bomb while we are at the show! Manchester will have a whole new appreciation for our industry after we dress the town in all of the colorful swatches! Items left at the end will be pieced together into blankets and scarves and donated to local charities. Continue reading “Yarn Bombing – You’re Invited”
