After the Thanksgiving meal is over, there is always the inevitable “ton” of leftovers that need to be packed up and put away before the day is complete. Of course, some leftovers go home with you in plastic bowls. Others will travel home with you on foam plates covered with plastic wrap or foil. That being said, the leftovers I want to focus on are those that will travel home with you on your favorite knit or crochet keepsake. Dare I say it, “stains!??”
In September I reflected on how beginners might take the next step in their knitting and crochet hobby. Now that the holidays will be here soon, there are many ways to use yarn to make the season bright. It’s a wonderful time to enjoy your craft, add loving touches to your home and give homey things to friends and family.
How many of you make gifts for the holidays? I’m one of those people who have plenty of people I gift that appreciate the items that are hand created and gifted with love. As my family has grown, it has become impossible to keep up with and gift everyone. In my immediate family, we try to make it all for the kids …. However, I do like to make items for a few of them. Tonight I’m going to work on the Gift Pocket Crochet Scarf.

Sometimes a round can fit into a square hole!
Whether it’s a cherished heirloom or a knock-around sweater for your son or daughter, what you create is an investment of your heart. Isn’t it equally important to invest just a little more time to know how to take care of what your hands have created? Continue reading “Sometimes a round peg CAN fit into a square hole . . .”

We have only a few short weeks to go before Gnora and Gnorbert will be showing off their new babies. They will be having a boy and a girl. They can’t make the announcement to the world without names, so we need boy and girl gnome names. Continue reading “The Adventures of Gnora & Gnorbert — Gname the Gnomes”
Today is Halloween and I’m sure we’ll see lots of gobblins and scary little creatures running through the neighborhood. I won’t have as much time to work on a project tonight, but I do have a little something set aside that I started on Monday. I haven’t made myself anything in awhile, so tonight I’m going to work on the Painted Wool Vest. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 4, Week 6”
