After the Thanksgiving meal – the “411” on stains – from the Yarn Guy

After the Thanksgiving meal is over, there is always the inevitable “ton” of leftovers that need to be packed up and put away before the day is complete. Of course, some leftovers go home with you in plastic bowls. Others will travel home with you on foam plates covered with plastic wrap or foil. That being said, the leftovers I want to focus on are those that will travel home with you on your favorite knit or crochet keepsake. Dare I say it, “stains!??

Part 2 of 3 Getting past being a beginner scarf maker…and get into the holidays

In September I reflected on how beginners might take the next step in their knitting and crochet hobby. Now that the holidays will be here soon, there are many ways to use yarn to make the season bright. It’s a wonderful time to enjoy your craft, add loving touches to your home and give homey things to friends and family.

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 4, Week 8

How many of you make gifts for the holidays? I’m one of those people who have plenty of people I gift that appreciate the items that are hand created and gifted with love. As my family has grown, it has become impossible to keep up with and gift everyone. In my immediate family, we try to make it all for the kids …. However, I do like to make items for a few of them. Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 4, Week 7

Do you realize the date?  I don’t think it really hit me until this past weekend … OMGoodness, its November already.  There are those expecting a really cold winter, even here in the South.  I’ve been working on holiday gifts, but tonight I’m going back to the throw I began early on, during Week 2 of the WNSC, The Big Octagon Throw.  I’m thinking we may need a few extra’s this winter.
