Music is the Issue! – Crochet Today!

I just got my January/February issue of Crochet Today! and I don’t think I’ve ever been this wowed! It’s their “music issue” and all the projects are inspired by musical themes. Fashions are presented like Bohemian Rhapsody in the form of a cozy shawl, and Purple
Haze is a sweater that is featured on the cover. Get the idea?! There are equally fun accessory projects with Broadway show themes, like the Chicago Headline cloche inspired by the hit musical. And for Valentine’s day gifts there are projects inspired by love songs, like You’re Still the One Throw. Continue reading “Music is the Issue! – Crochet Today!”

The Adventures of Gnorbert the Gnome – Meeting Gnora

Earlier this year we introduced you to Gnorbert the Gnome and his travels. He visited shows, the Coats & Clark Mill, took a few road trips and even a vacation. Even though he was having a wonderful time traveling around meeting all the wonderful yarn people, we was still missing something. While at one of those shows, something special happened, he met his mate Gnora. A little shy at first, he did sneak a kiss when he thought no one was looking. Gnora has agreed to join Gnorbert on his adventures in 2012. Do I see a romance in the making? Continue reading “The Adventures of Gnorbert the Gnome – Meeting Gnora”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Albums

Thank you all for making the 2nd Season of the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge a success.  We had an overwhelming positive response with hundreds of photos. Due to some technical issues out of our control we have been delayed in posting all of the photos. It’s the holiday season and many of you are on a constant run and may not have time to flip through all the wonderful photo’s to vote. With that in mind, we have extended voting on for the WNSC photo’s until December 30, 2011. The winners will be announced on January 9, 2012. Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 10

Yes it’s Wednesday and I’m ready to chill with my yarn and crochet hook! It’s been chilly, dreary and raining for over a week. It’s a great time to sit and stitch! Tonight I’m making something for myself and maybe will make a few extra for stocking stuffers. I just love the Cottage Crochet Slippers. They are easy to work up and so many colors to choose from. I’ll just go through my stash to see what colorful slippers I can create. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 10”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 9

Not tonight, this is the one night I don’t let myself worry about any of it … I just enjoy knowing I’ll have a few hours to relax and stitch. I still have a few finishing touches on gifts item, that I can’t talk about. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 9”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 8

This is Thanksgiving week and I’m very thankful for my family and friends.  They have all been part of making this a wonderful year. People are traveling, visiting with family and busy, busy, busy.  Everyone is coming to our house for dinner this year so today is one of those *multi-task* days …. Several things happening in the kitchen, cleaning the house (???), laundry, another run to the grocery store, and fitting in work along the way. Oh, I forgot to mention the grandkids have begun showing up to spend the rest of the week here. Whew …. I am definitely looking forward to tonight! Perfect weather for sitting by the fire and stitching today.  I started working on the Dusty Snowflake Throw Crochet Along (CAL) a few weeks ago and began working on it again last night and will continue that tonight – determined to finish before the end of the year.  I call mine Midnight Snowflake Throw.
