If you live where you have winter weather, or if you are planning a trip to the mountains or northern city (like me), you’ll be happy to have a cabled hat…knit or crochet it, the choice is yours! Our designer, Edie Eckman, has chosen With Love yarn which is cozy and soft, never scratchy. I love the tan and blue shades that Edie used for our photographed hats. But With Love comes in a full range of over 40 wonderful shades.

When designer Lisa Gentry at Hook & Needle Designs told me she was working on designs for pumpkins using all Red Heart yarns, my curiosity was aroused. She usually designs beautiful crocheted and knitted garments. So I asked her to send me photos of what she was doing with pumpkins (of all things). She sent me her eBook, which is a creative collection of 13 crocheted Pumpkin Toppers. It includes patterns and ideas for displaying your crochet talents on top of pumpkins all around your house, both inside and out.
We are head over heels in love with Scrubby yarn and so excited that we have been adding new pattern inspiration to redheart.com every month. It’s not often that a yarn is so innovative and offers such practical help for daily cleaning and washing. We’ve been having fun using new colors of Scrubby and falling in love with the new Scrubby Sparkle version of this yarn. This shiny, festive Scrubby sister yarn not only washes your dishes, it is perfect for holiday and party decorations.
Fall 2016 promises to be the season that we all enjoy wearing stylish wraps like these ruanas! A ruana is similar to a shawl, but shaped like a poncho with an opening up the front.
I still need to pack and get myself there, but I wanted to remind everyone that the Knit & Crochet Show is happening this week! Classes begin Wednesday through Saturday. And the shopping market is open Friday and Saturday.
