As I sat watching the leaves change colors each weekend this fall, I realized that Christmas would be here before I knew it. What would I do for my yearly craft? This year I decided to add a bit of Glam to the holidays with a tree made with Red Heart Boutique Swanky yarn. The sequins made for an already decorated look to a very simple project. This project does not take a lot of time but yields a beautiful and glamorous look to the holiday decorations.
Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house? I am not quite ready to put up Christmas decorations, but it’s never too late to start making some. I like to finish the Thanksgiving dishes before I put the tree up. To help with your decorations I have come up with a dozen ornaments that I really like. This list includes five knit, five crochet, and two crafty ornaments for you to choose from. These can be used on your tree, to embellish your wrapped packages or as hostess gifts. There are plenty more to check out on RedHeart.com.
Olivia Laws is a fiber sculpture artist who makes large-scale sculptures out of crochet, using Red Heart Super Saver. We saw her photos on social media — especially her giant ice cream cone — and wanted to learn more.

Everyone talks about yarn weight — what does it mean? When we refer to yarn weight, we’re not talking about the weight of the ball or skein. Instead, we’re talking about how thick or thin yarn is.
