Once high school and college are over you wonder if you will ever make lasting friends like you had when you were young. I grew up in Louisiana and moved to North Carolina as an adult so I was not sure it would happen. It did! I have five fabulous ladies that are my “grown up” friends. We all lived in the same neighborhood, five of us in the same cul-de-sac. Our kids grew up together and we remained friends even after most of us moved away. I think we are on 14 years now.

Welcome back to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge! This week I’m making the Twisted Cowl in Medley. I love to wear scarves and cowls in the winter months, since they dress up an outfit and keep me warm in our cold office.

Welcome back to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge, Season 6! This week I’m knitting myself the Create Some Charm Hat. I love thick yarns, so I’m happy to work with our new yarn Grande. Grande is a super bulky yarn (6 weight) and it comes in 9 heathered colors.
I wish that I could tell you that I am up on all the current styles and I know what everyone is wearing, but I can’t. I have a secret weapon, a college age daughter who lets me know what’s hot and trendy. She also feels free to let me know what I should and should not wear.
I can tell you that she will only accessorize with cowls, no scarf for her. Over the summer she brought me four scarves that someone had given her and asked me to sew the ends together and make them cowls. I understand it because they are stylish, warm, sensible and they won’t fall off.
In honor of the colder temperatures I wanted to bring you a variety of cowls. At RedHeart.com we have so many different styles to choose from. We have short, long, wide, twisted, dressed up or dressed down and even finger crocheted cowls. Please enjoy my dozen picks, but check out our website for other free knit and crochet patterns and so much more.
You might have seen Chi Krneta on the news recently: she crocheted her own beautiful wedding dress! Even better, she did it using our Aunt Lydia’s Classic Crochet Thread Size 10.
