Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 10

Yes it’s Wednesday and I’m ready to chill with my yarn and crochet hook! It’s been chilly, dreary and raining for over a week. It’s a great time to sit and stitch! Tonight I’m making something for myself and maybe will make a few extra for stocking stuffers. I just love the Cottage Crochet Slippers. They are easy to work up and so many colors to choose from. I’ll just go through my stash to see what colorful slippers I can create. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 10”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 9

Thank you, thank you, thank you for Wednesday night! The holiday rush is on and the days keep getting busier, more stressful, constant worry about how to get through it all. Not tonight, this is the one night I don’t let myself worry about any of it … I just enjoy knowing I’ll have a few hours to relax and stitch. I still have a few finishing touches on gifts item, that I can’t talk about. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 9”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 8

This is Thanksgiving week and I’m very thankful for my family and friends.  They have all been part of making this a wonderful year. People are traveling, visiting with family and busy, busy, busy.  Everyone is coming to our house for dinner this year so today is one of those *multi-task* days …. Several things happening in the kitchen, cleaning the house (???), laundry, another run to the grocery store, and fitting in work along the way. Oh, I forgot to mention the grandkids have begun showing up to spend the rest of the week here. Whew …. I am definitely looking forward to tonight! Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 7

Rain, storms, more rain … sounds dreary doesn’t it?  Its Wednesday … let it rain! Perfect weather for sitting by the fire and stitching today.  I started working on the Dusty Snowflake Throw Crochet Along (CAL) a few weeks ago and began working on it again last night and will continue that tonight – determined to finish before the end of the year.  I call mine Midnight Snowflake Throw. Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 7”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 6

Here it is Wednesday again … YEA!!!  I’m out of town today, but I have my yarn, needles & hooks with me.  I’m looking forward to going back to my room, having the evening to myself and just watching TV and stitching away.  I’m currently working on samples for some upcoming videos, but tonight I’m putting that aside and will be working on something quick like a stocking.  Each year about this time I have numerous requests for stockings … I never seem to have enough stockings around.  Not only do I make new ones for friends and family members, I also use them as gift packages, each personalized.  I’m using the Waiting for Santa Stockings crochet pattern, it has 3 sizes of patterns. Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 5

“The country habit has me by the heart!” I saw this written somewhere recently and it stuck with me. As I sit at my computer working on reports, messages, project ideas, research … etc., getting frustrated that not all things aren’t going smoothly, I walk away to think. Living in the South and in the country, I’m able to enjoy the fall while sitting outside just enjoying the view. Part of my work also involves knitting and crocheting, so when I have these *walk away moments* I’m able to enjoy the sounds of nature and fall colors while I sit and stitch.  The country habit has me today! Continue reading “Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Week 5”

Dusty Snowflake Throw Crochet Along Week 3

It’s Week 3 of the Dusty Snowflake Crochet Along and we have another video for you.  I’ve seen the beautiful pieces you are creating. Keep up the great work! Post pictures of your partially completed and completed projects, so that we can set up an album on Facebook for everyone to enjoy.

I was away at the Stitches East show last week and didn’t have much time to work on my throw, but I’ll be doing some stitching tonight and will share my photos next week.

Watch the How-To videos for the different techniques on completing each motif.  Techniques shown this week are how to join motifs together on Rnd 7 to create a row and adding filler motifs.  Also visit Red Heart’s YouTube channel to see videos on joining the motifs as you go.

Tell us about your progress and share with us pictures of your progress each week on Red Heart’s Facebook page.
