Cro-Shayley Joins Neighborhood Stitch Club

My family and I just moved back to North Carolina from Mississippi a few months ago. It feels so good to be closer to our loved ones! We found a great neighborhood to live in that has all types of clubs to join to get to know people. I got an alert in my email one day for a new group for knitters and crocheters called Stitch for a Cause. I love to crochet and I enjoy making things for special causes so I had to join! The cause we are stitching for through January is for the American Heart Association’s Little Hats, Big Hearts. We’re making red newborn hats to raise awareness for heart disease and defects.

Here are some of the hats we made so far just from our Stitch for a Cause group.

A few more hats were donated by the time we mailed our first box. I believe our first shipment was a total of 65 hats. So awesome!

Red Heart was so kind to donate several skeins of Red Heart With Love yarn and Red Heart Soft Yarn yarn for this cause. I’m excited to see the next batch of hats we will make. Thanks Red Heart Yarns!!!

If you would like to join in making newborn hats for such a great cause, click here for more details. Below are a few of Red Heart’s free hat patterns I thought would be good to share:

Hi Nora, Thanks for your comment! The group is local to Cro-Shayley, in her part of North Carolina (which we are not posting publicly for privacy reasons). If you live outside of that area of NC, you can look and see if there is a local neighborhood group stitching for charity in your area. If you need more suggestions on making items for charity, we have some in this blog post.
