Cro-Shayley makes a Fireman Hat

Hi Red Heart friends! I’m back from maternity leave and here to tell you, being a mother, as most of you know, is hard work but totally worth every bit of it!!! People tell you you won’t remember life before your baby and they were right. Finally, we’ve got a routine down and now I’m ready to get back to my fun hobby, crocheting!

A high school friend of mine just found out she’s pregnant and asked me to make her a newborn fireman hat. To accomplish this, I decided to piece together bits of Red Heart patterns. A little trial and error but finally complete. Here goes…

Using size 4 Red Heart Super Saver Black, I started with LW1551 Crochet & Knit Newborn Cap.

Hello! I absolutely LOVE this!!! I have several friends, and so do my kids, that are married to firefighters and are just starting families or having thier first grandchildren. Is there a way to get a wrtten pattern with pictures? I can’t wait to make some of these for the kids.

Hi Pamela, We’re glad you like it! Are you asking for a PDF version? Unfortunately this pattern is only available in our blog. You should be able to print the blog with the pictures and text, but the formatting may be odd. You can also try copying it first into a word processing program before printing it out.

I’m just a little confused row 4 says ch3 and skip first sc. Does it mean don’t DC in ch3 st or totally skip the next sc. Thank you. I love this pattern.
