Do you have kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews that love dinosaurs? Man my nephew, Chandler, sure does! He even knows how to pronounce a lot of their names…and he’s only 5! I remember learning about them in elementary school and how fascinating they were. Then I saw the first Jurassic Park and was terrified for days. ;)

As I sat watching the leaves change colors each weekend this fall, I realized that Christmas would be here before I knew it. What would I do for my yearly craft? This year I decided to add a bit of Glam to the holidays with a tree made with Red Heart Boutique Swanky yarn. The sequins made for an already decorated look to a very simple project. This project does not take a lot of time but yields a beautiful and glamorous look to the holiday decorations.
Isn’t it wonderful how knitters and crocheters can make gifts that are a bit more personal and unique than store bought?! One of my favorite ways to give bottles of wine is to dress them up a bit with a knit or crochet bottle topper. These bottle garments are perfect to have on hand for last minute invitations and get-togethers during the holiday season.
Is it beginning to look a lot like Christmas at your house? I am not quite ready to put up Christmas decorations, but it’s never too late to start making some. I like to finish the Thanksgiving dishes before I put the tree up. To help with your decorations I have come up with a dozen ornaments that I really like. This list includes five knit, five crochet, and two crafty ornaments for you to choose from. These can be used on your tree, to embellish your wrapped packages or as hostess gifts. There are plenty more to check out on RedHeart.com.
Do you have that certain person that has everything in your life? Everyone does! I have an idea for you that is perfect for any household. Below I have found some knit and crochet patterns that are easy enough to whip up for a last minute gift or for that person that has everything. If you want to make it a little more special you can combine with a nice bar of soap, pump soap or even dish soap. I know my mother would love this. Guess what mom?
Has the cool Fall weather arrived in your neck of the woods? Are you someone who likes to work out outdoors and likes to take evening runs, walks and bike rides? Keep those ears warm while doing so and make Red Heart’s Blissful Ear Warmers using Red Heart Reflective yarn (MY FAVORITE). Reflective thread is wrapped around the yarn making it reflect light, aiding in nighttime visibility and helping protect you at night.
This pattern is super quick and easy. I made this project in less than an hour for my friend who lives down the street. She’s an avid runner and was in need of something to keep her ears warm while she works out in the evenings.
Knitters and crocheters have a long tradition of using their needles and hooks to share with others and to let those going through a difficult time know that they care. One of the most popular type of project to give is a cozy hat. If you are a person looking to give to those in need you’ll want to view this eBook – Hats for Charity. It is a collection of 15 of the best and easiest Red Heart hat patterns presented in one easy to reference eBook along with their patterns.
If you’re like most knitters and crocheters I know, you want instant gratification, and Red Heart Grande fits the bill. Red Heart Grande is a wonderful, soft, Super Bulky yarn.
