If you’re planning a party to watch the “big game”, having a birthday party for a sports loving kid or looking ahead to home coming events, have you thought of using your crochet and knit skills for colorful decorations? In my photo, I used an earflap hat on a football as a centerpiece and another hat as a bowl cozy. Who said hats are only for heads?! I spent a bit of time with my great-niece, Ella, over the Thanksgiving holiday. We collaborated on a yarn-wrapped headband and then we filled clear ornaments with bits of yarn. Here are some tips if you would like to do these two projects with a young person in your life. Continue reading “A Kid Can Create with Yarn”
In September I reflected on how beginners might take the next step in their knitting and crochet hobby. Now that the holidays will be here soon, there are many ways to use yarn to make the season bright. It’s a wonderful time to enjoy your craft, add loving touches to your home and give homey things to friends and family.
