Welcome! We hope you join us and Creativebug in the Cabled Afghan Knit Along! Beginning on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, and every week after for 12 weeks we’ll post a new knit square pattern for the Knit Your Cables Afghan (LW4309). Each square has a companion video tutorial presented by Creativebug where designer Edie Eckman will show you tips on knitting the square. Edie’s daughter Margaret will join in here on the Red Heart blog.
We are now into Week 5 of the Knit Along for Kate’s Shawl and some of you may be finished by now. I was planning on having mine completed for Stitches South last week, but I fell short only because I had other things to make. Maybe if I had 2 sets of hands I could get more done. No matter, I’m back working on this shawl and should have it finished by next week. This will make a perfect wrap for the office. Even though it’s getting warmer outside, the air conditioning in the office is a bit nippy at times and it blows right on my shoulders.
We are into week 3 of the Knit Along for Kate’s Shawl and you should be well on your way to completion. I just love the textured design it creates. It’s a simple pattern repeat to follow; you just need to pay attention because 1 or 2 stitches missed can throw off the entire look. Last week I ended up having to rip out several inches of my work, and that was not pleasant. It’s not the first time nor will it be the last. That’s what happens when you rush and don’t pay attention. I’m back on track and almost finished. I’m hoping to wear it next week while attending Stitches South.
Hi everyone! How is your progress coming along on Kate’s Shawl? I’ve been knitting away, just a few hours each day, so I can get mine completed to wear in a few weeks. Because of the continuing increased stitches, it just keeps getting wider and wider. Continue reading “Spring 2012 Knit Along, Kate’s Shawl-Week 2”
For this season’s Knit-Along, we are making Kate’ Shawl. I love wearing shawls, they go with everything. This shawl calls for Red Heart Soft in color Dark Leaf. I’ve wanted to use the Red Heart Super Tweed on a project so I selected Landshark as my color. Continue reading “Spring 2012 Knit Along, Kate’s Shawl-Week 1”
Over the past month we have asked you what project you would like to work on for the next Red Heart Knit Along. Based on your comments, it was between shawls and baby items. We have selected 3 knitted shawls and 3 knitted baby sets for you to vote on which you would like to work on for the Spring Knit Along. Continue reading “Red Heart’s Spring Knit Along 2012”
Join us for Knit Along Wednesday! We are working on the Simple Spring Swing Cardigan. There is still time to join us … this sweater is great for summer also. We haven’t set a deadline on completing the sweater, so just pick up your needles, grab the yarn and get started on your cardigan. Work at your own pace. I’ve completed the one I was working on, but this is such a simple and practical cardigan … I’m making another. This time I’m going to change it up a little by using a couple different colors. I’ll show you pics as it develops. Continue reading “Knit Along Spring Swing Cardigan Week 4”
It’s Knit Along Wednesday! How is everyone doing on their Simple Spring Swing Cardigan? Some of you might have the three main pieces completed. If you do, you’ll be ready to sew the pieces together, add the sleeves and front bands. I had to put mine aside for a few days, so I’m working on the right front today. Just keep working at your own pace. It’s going to be another week before I can get mine finished. Continue reading “Knit Along Spring Swing Cardigan Week 3”
It’s Wednesday! I’m still using the middle of the week to chill and spend some time stitching on things I want. We started our Knit Along, Simple Spring Swing Cardigan, last Wednesday. Some of you might have the back completed already. I do, but don’t worry if you haven’t, just work at your own pace. Continue reading “Knit Along Spring Swing Cardigan Week 2”
