Crocodile Stitch with Marly Bird

In this class with Marly, you’ll fill your crochet toolbox with the textural crocodile stitch. Learn the technique of the basic crocodile stitch, shaping in pattern and applying the stitch to a project. This class will cover the basic technique, shaping and practical application. This is an advanced beginner class. Must have a strong understanding of basic crochet skills.





Single Crochet Entrelac with Marly Bird

The joke is that you will spend your time learning to basket weave…well, instead of learning how to actually do it how about learning how to crochet a fabric that resembles basket-woven stripes?

But entrelac is only for knitters you say– NOPE! Get the look of basic entrelac with a crochet hook instead of knitting needles. This class doesn’t use Tunisian to complete each square or triangle respectively; simple single crochet is all you need. Amaze all your friends with your new found crochet skill and create amazing blankets, accessories and garments!

Class will cover basic entrelac construction, crochet charts, and decreasing as well as providing many opportunities for hands on practice. This is an advanced beginner class. Must have a strong understanding of basic crochet skills.

Crocheting with Beads with Marly Bird

Add a new tool to your crochet bag and learn how to add beads to a project. Get hands-on instruction for making a sampler swatch and your very own crochet beaded necklace. This fun and fast project is a great way to venture into the world of beaded crochet. Learn two different methods of adding beads to any crochet project, and BEST of all, you will finish the project in class and can wear it around the market all weekend to show off your beautiful work. This is the class for you to become a capital C Crocheter and add a little pizzazz to your work. Learn how to add beads to your crochet project and make a fun crochet necklace. This is a moderate beginner class. Familiarity with basic crochet is a plus.

Simple Crochet Shawlette with Marly Bird

Crocheted shawls are worked up really fast and can teach a lot of wonderful skills. In the Simple Crochet Shawlette Workshop class you will learn fun and easy ways to create crocheted shawls/shawlettes. As an extra bonus Marly Bird will show you how to choose the perfect edging for your piece customizing it for you. Students will learn three different ways to begin a shawl resulting in at least 3 different shapes in class.  This is an advanced beginner class and the student should know how to chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet, increase and decrease, and basic pattern reading skills.


Curvy Knits with Marly Bird

Have you ever spent time and yarn money to knit a sweater that you never wear because it stretched, or feels funny, or makes you look massive? In Curvy Knits learn fit adjustments to waist, bust, set in sleeves, neckline and other trouble spots that will make your finished garments look wonderful.

In class learn how to calculate horizontal bust darts, calculate the shape of a cap sleeve, and alter necklines. This is a fast-paced class with a lot of information but you will not be disappointed. Leave this class with more tools in your knitter’s tool box to make better fitting sweaters. Students will learn about what they like, how to choose the right pattern, how to use basic math to calculate shaping, bust darts and sleeve caps!

Must be familiar with sweater construction, must have knit at least one sweater in the past, and must be comfortable with group participation.
