Merry Mason Display for Crochet

I’m sure you’ve purchased Mason jars to use for everything from holding your crochet hooks to giving gifts of food…but have you thought of using them to make totally inspiring Crochet Christmas décor? This modern version of the old fashioned snow globe is great for displaying bits of your crochet craftiness for everyone to enjoy!

This is so easy that I’m sure you can figure it out for yourself….but here is what I did.

I used crochet motifs from these two patterns:

Supplies

Pint size Mason jar
Faux snow or table salt
Masking tape
Craft glue
Small crocheted motifs in Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 – see colors in patterns
Aunt Lydia’s Baker’s Cotton in 529 Turquoise and 900 Red

Directions

Step 1: Remove lid and clean your jar.

Step 2: Put a small amount of “snow” to fill the bottom, about an inch should do it.

Step 3: Use crochet cotton to make hanging loops for the motifs.

Step 4: Use masking tape to attach hanging loops to inside center of lid. (This takes a few tries to get the motif in the best location.) Screw lid onto the jar.

Step 5: Wrap colorful Baker’s Cotton around lid for a festive touch and glue ends to hold in place.

Lastly…

Make sure to take a photo of any completed projects. You get extra kudos for creativity! Post them on our Facebook page or describe them in the comments here. We’d love to see them.

Hi Jean, Unfortunately, we do not have a PDF version of the mason jar project or the snowmen ornament project, but you should be able to print the web pages for the blogs out.
