Today, we are going to give Rex a bit more characteristics. You will find Rex in Africa. Cute to look at, dangerous to get up close to.
Clue #4 Tail, Make 1
With A, ch 9, slip st in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across. Fasten off. Cut yarn, leaving a long tail.
Cut four lengths of B, each 10″ [25 cm] long. Thread each length through one end of Tail and center each length.
Tie an overhand knot in lengths to secure and trim.
Clue #5 – Spots. Make 12. You can make more if you feel it’s not enough. Decide at the end.
With B, ch 2.
Round 1: 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around, slip st in first st to join.
Clue #6 – Finish the Face
With C, embroider eyes (if not using safety eyes) and nostrils in satin stitch. Embroider mouth in couched stitch. If you would like to wait to see more of your creature come together before deciding what it’s face should look like, you can always wait.
Join me next Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014 as we complete our Rex together. It will become obvious on what he/she is next week.
