Sassy Sashay

Boutique-Sashay_blog-header

When someone first showed me how to knit with Sashay, I was pretty amazed. It’s not like any yarn I had ever used. It’s actually not really a “yarn”, it’s more like a frilly ruffle that you knit into a track along the top. One of the first things I learned was the correct size needle to use. I thought that I would have to use a large needle, but it turns out that a size 9 (5.5mm) needle is perfect.

Casting on is interesting. You simply put loops from the “track” onto the needle and begin to knit. If you want some visual help, watch our Knitting with Sashay or Crocheting with Sashay videos.

One thing that I like to do is work a couple of rows of a plain worsted yarn between ruffle rows. I find it makes it easier to knit and the yarn doesn’t show.

The lengthwise version of the scarf is my favorite. You work long rows, but less of them. You can really churn out the scarves – more for you, your friends, relatives and co-workers. Well, you get the picture!
