Hi Coral, Thanks for your question! Red Heart Soft has a similar texture and will work to the same gauge. It will not felt, however, since it is 100% acrylic.

Hi, can I purchase stitch nation wool at Walmart or Micheals? If not what red heart wool is a good substitute?

Hi Jackie, Thank you for your question! Stitch Nation yarns have been discontinued for a few years now (the blog post was from 2010), and we do not currently have any plain yarns with wool in them. All of the yarns had a weight of 4, so you can try substituting our other yarns with a weight of 4 such as Soft, With Love, or Super Saver. The gauge will be different, so you will need to make sure you adjust the hook or needles to have the project come out the correct size. Additionally, the yarn will feel and drape differently from the Stitch Nation yarns.

Anisette Cardi by Debbie Stoller. I’ve gotten to the sleeve but having a problem. There are two decrease rows and I’ve done one of them. But if I do the second set of decrease rows, I get to the 7.5 inches in length long before I’ve been able to decrease 7 times every other row. My gauge is correct. Also when it says “At the same time” am I supposed to keep up with the decreasing as well, decreasing every other row in addition to the binding off? Thanks for whatever help you can give me.
