As I was reading through Bobbie Matela’s, Back to School with Team Spirit blog post, I added a few of the free patterns to My Favorites. The following day I was perusing through the fun stuff at Goodwill and I came across a $2 seat cushion and remembered the Crochet Stadium Seat Cover free pattern I saved so I purchased it. We just added four new shades of Red Heart Super Saver and we wanted to see how they work up. Seems like there is still plenty of winter to come, so we decided to try two of the new colors for really easy cowls. They’re the perfect quick projects for staying inside and relaxing as you knit or crochet.
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of introducing The Pasadena Crochet Meet Up to the beautiful Red Heart Soft yarn. The texture, the way it drapes, and the variety of colors are just amazing. Some of the group members opted to use Red Heart Super Saver for this project and it worked out just as well.
My friend, Lizzie, turned 7 a few weeks ago. She had planned a dragon-themed birthday party and was in need of a super cute dragon hat. I came to her rescue and made Red Heart’s Dragon Hat just in time for her birthday party.
Lizzie wanted the hat and tail to be black, the scales to be hot pink, and the spots to be purple. Luckily, I had all 3 colors in my stash! I used Super Saver Black and Shocking Pink and Shimmer Purple (which added a little girly sparkle to the hat).
