Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 6, Week 5

Welcome back to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge, Season 6! This week I’m knitting myself the Create Some Charm Hat. I love thick yarns, so I’m happy to work with our new yarn Grande. Grande is a super bulky yarn (6 weight) and it comes in 9 heathered colors.

create_some_charm_hatInstead of making the hat in the color Apricot, I’ll be using Aran. I want a neutral-colored hat so it will go with any of the scarves in my scarf collection plus any of my winter coats. Life is easier when you can mix-and-match your cold-weather gear!

14063 Easy Wrap Pom Pom MakerTo make the pompom on the top, I’ll be using the Easy Wrap Pom-Pom Maker, which makes it easy to make pompoms. Here’s a tutorial if you want step-by-step directions for this tool.

Tip: If you want a more masculine looking hat, you can leave off the pompom and just leave it as a beanie.

Please share what you’re working on in the comments on our blog posts or on our social media channels: Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. Tag your social media posts with #WNSC6 to share them with the group. I’d love to see what you’re working on!

Each week we’ll select one winner of a $150 Red Heart Prize Package. To enter, fill out the Rafflecopter form at the bottom of this blog post.

Congratulations to Karen A., last week’s winner!

I’m working on a lapghan for a craft bazaar at church. Having difficulties since I’m changing colors at the end of each row and don’t know how to change yarns without tying knots or having the colors “bleed” into the next row. But having fun with it!

Free yarn and gifts of yarn are always welcome by the crafter. Save time running to the store or getting online for the next project yarn.

I am currently working on a slouchy hat for a neighbors little girl. She really adores them, and using the unforgettable yarn has it coming out really nice and soft.

YES…,.I’m still working on my husbands scarf. To think I used to want to make a sweater with super fine 1 yarn, huh not so sure anymore. It may sound strange using that for a scarf but it is so soft and warm.
