Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 6, Week 8

Welcome back to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge! This is the final week of the challenge, and I’m knitting the Elegant Night Cowl for my cousin for Christmas.

elegant_night_cowlMy cousin frequently has formal evening events for her job, so I thought this sparkly cowl would be a nice touch. It’s made in our new Boutique Swanky yarn, which has sequins along the length of the yarn. The sequins match the yarn color, so they allow a subtle sparkle to appear.

Boutique Swanky is a great yarn for more formal accessories and sweaters, such as a top, bag, or shawl for New Year’s Eve parties.

Please share what you’re working on in the comments on our blog posts or on our social media channels:Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter. Tag your social media posts with #WNSC6 to share them with the group. I love seeing what you’re working on each week — thanks for joining the challenge with me!

Each week we’ll select one winner of a $150 Red Heart Prize Package. To enter, fill out the Rafflecopter form at the bottom of this blog post.

Congratulations to last week’s winner, Denise B.!

Good luck! I didn’t use to like bulky yarns either, but I found the right project to work with and now I almost prefer them since they usually work up really fast.

I’m working on the Red heart pattern LW4011, “All Around Warm Up Jacket”. I’m using the retired super saver yarn, “Bay Print”. I was very glad to find a sweater pattern to use this yarn for. I had purchased this yarn a few years ago – enough for an afghan that I never made. :) I started this a couple of weeks ago. It’s going very well. I love the pattern. It’s worked in the round.

  21. Stephanie

I love Red Heart yarn. This would defiantly be wonderful to win. Thank you in advance if you pick me.

  22. Joyce Johnson

I am making hats and cowls for each of my five granddaughters as well as the fun frilly scarves. I’ve made about 20 of them so they’ll each get 4. They range in age from 13 down to 5. The boutique mini is perfect for the little one!

  23. Donna Hill

This a beautiful cowl but I don’t knit. Is there a crochet pattern for it?
