Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 7, Week 2

Welcome to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge! This is the second week of our virtual “stitch and sip”. Everyone’s so busy it can be hard to find time to work on your projects, especially with the holidays approaching, so I’ve found it best to set aside time each week. Wednesdays fit my schedule best, but you can choose any evening that suits your schedule.

Fancy Flower ScrubberWe’d love to see what you’re working on! Please share your projects — in progress or complete –on our social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, and Tumblr. Tag your posts with #WNSC so everyone can see!

This week I’m crocheting the Fancy Flower Scrubber. Our picture shows them in a kitchen, but my coworker took a couple home to try and her 3 year old twins loved them for the bath. My cousin has three young kids, so I thought this would be a great Christmas gift for them to make bath time more fun.

I’m changing up the colors to personalize the scrubbers. I’m making one a daisy, for her girl: the center in 241 Duckie and the petals in 10 Coconut.

For her boys, I’m using the black center (12 Black) for one with petals in 258 Orange. For the other boy, I’m using 620 Lime in the center with 870 Royal petals.

I love those! I have been searching high and low for scrubby yarn. I just cannot find them in my area. And that makes me sad :-(

I’m working on knitting a drop stitch scarf. I was crocheting a super-size granny square but ran out of yarn. Lol

  4. Michele

I’ll be working on a set of boot cuffs & possibly an accompanying scarf made with Ragg yarn.

  5. Denise

Oh I must have missed the notice for the start of this. That’s OK . I’m glad you started it again. Thanks. Hi everyone, at the moment I’m working on getting rid of my stash of yarn by making items for donations like hats scarves and a few afghans. i had a lot of baby yarn so I’m working on preemie hats now.

  6. Alice Berry

I am working on 2 afghans and many hats right now for the cancer clinics, St Jude ( hats and afghans)…and many hats for homeless also. I will work on all these donations until mid Oct, then I will start on Christmas gifts for my large family……Crocheting is my hobby….and I love all kinds and colors of Red Heart yarn. It relaxes me…and helps others in need also….

I’m making a baby ninja turtle outfit. It’s fun making up my own pattern!

  8. Laura

Working on skull hats….trying like crazy to get the different sizes to work and still have even numbers of skulls in each row. This one’s a challenge, for sure! Happy hooking, everyone’s!

Currently working on fingerless gloves with mitten flaps for my husband to wear to go hunting. I don’t know what the color is actually called, but it look like blaze orange. He loves them so far! :-D

  10. Amy

Working on boot cuffs and more bootcuffs. Have about 6 pair done for a festival in a few weeks. :)

This yarn is hard to come by. It only seems to be available in Walmart. Please make it available in the major craft stores, as in AC Moore, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Jo-Anns Fabrics. Love it but do not love Walmart.

  12. Sue

Working on a shawl for my friend out of sock yarn. The yarn came to me after my Sister-in-law’s aunt passed away. She had quite a bit of yarn!!! and would love that I am able to use it.

I am using Red Heart Gumdrop in Smoothie to make my niece a slouchy hat with a matching hat for her baby which is due in November. I made a had this summer using the Gumdrop yarn and really love it. It is soft, easy to work with and I absolutely love the colors! I will be getting more of this yarn to make future gifts.
