Share the Joy…One Stitch at a Time

I learned how to knit shortly after turning 50.

That was a time of confusion for me, as it is for many people, because I knew that life after 50 can be filled with all kinds of change—good and bad, planned and completely out of the blue.

Instead of pulling the proverbial blanket over my head, though, I took action and embarked on my “Journey to Joy.”

Cro-Shayley makes a Laptop Cozy

Cro-Shayley makes a Laptop Cozy

Are you in need of a cover for your laptop, tablet or a similar sized electronic device? I use my laptop quite often, taking it from room to room in my house, using it in the kitchen while cooking, in the living room while crocheting and in my bedroom catching up on emails, paying bills and browsing the web. I decided, since I take full advantage of it’s “wireless” mobility then I should probably make a cover for it (for its safety from my almost-walking 1 year old). ;)  Continue reading “Cro-Shayley makes a Laptop Cozy”

Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge Season 7, Week 4

Welcome to the Wednesday Night Stitching Challenge! This is the fourth and final week of our virtual “stitch and sip”. Everyone’s so busy it can be hard to find time to work on your projects, especially with the holidays approaching, so I’ve found it best to set aside time each week. Cro-Shayley makes a Stadium Seat Cover

Cro-Shayley makes a Stadium Seat Cover

As I was reading through Bobbie Matela’s, Back to School with Team Spirit blog post, I added a few of the free patterns to My Favorites. The following day I was perusing through the fun stuff at Goodwill and I came across a $2 seat cushion and remembered the Crochet Stadium Seat Cover free pattern I saved so I purchased it. My husband and I became good friends with some Ole Miss fans so I thought it would be nice to make them a seat cover to take to some football games. Sorry Mississippi State and LSU fans…don’t hate me! ;)

Cro-Shayley makes the Merry Go Round Teddy Bear

Cro-Shayley makes the Merry-Go-Round Teddy Bear

Need a big BEAR hug??? Oh man, do I have the perfect, snuggly pattern for you! I had a few skeins of Red Heart Snuggle Bunny in my yarn stash and I was dying to use it to create something soft for my new friend, Weston. Snuggle Bunny is similar to Red Heart Baby Clouds which was the yarn used to create the “oldie-but-oh-so-goodie” Merry-Go-Round Teddy Bear so I thought I’d try it. This finished teddy bear is big and I LOVE IT! Standing approximately 21” tall, longer than some newborns. :)
