When this Cross-hatched Cowl & Beanie set came into the office, I knew I had to make it! The style is super cute and Reflective is my new favorite yarn — I love taking pictures with it, and the yarn itself is super soft and drapes well. Continue reading “Fun Hat and Cowl Set”
Have you ever found a project that you just haaaaad to make then once you got started you realized how much work had to go into and soon the project became a UFO (unfinished object)? Well, that is precisely what happened here. Back in November, I was flipping through the January 2014 issue of Crochet Today and found this beautiful Ali Cape. I had never attempted a cape or poncho before so I thought now is the time! Kudos to you poncho and cape designers, knitters and crocheters out there! I now know the time and effort you put into projects like this. I started this project in November and just finished last week. But, to give myself some credit, I put the project aside multiple times to make Christmas, birthday and baby gifts and eventually came back to it. So I didnt completely give up, I’d just rather say, I took my time. ;)
I recently went on a weekend mountain trip to Blowing Rock, North Carolina with my family. Since I knew it was going to be cold (a freezing 8 degrees, that is), I crocheted a few Blissful Ear Warmers with Red Heart’s new very awesome, incredibly amazing REFLECTIVE YARN. My friends always make fun of me for taking patterns and putting my own spin on them. I like to make old new again, bright not so bright and turn dull into vibrant. Continue reading “Baby Granny My Way”

Over the past several months I’ve worked on the Ribbed Slit Shawl (LW2438) in Super Soft as my lunch break project. Our office can get pretty chilly, so I figured the shawl would be perfect to keep me warm at my desk.
Are you a fan of the Holey Tops that are in style? Ever walk into a store and see some on the rack but just don’t want to pay $30 or more for one? Well, I don’t know about you, but now that I know how to crochet, I just can’t see myself spending that kind of money when I can just go home and make it! And since I’m not ready to let summer go quite yet, I finally decided to make one, the Trendy Top Overlay. Maybe I’ll get a few wears out of the top before it gets too cold. Continue reading “Cro-Shayley makes Red Heart’s Trendy Top Overlay”
Need a fun craft project for little girls? Three words: Hand Chain Scarf! This project can be complete in minutes and you don’t even have to know how to knit or crochet — all you do is use your hands. My nieces were visiting from out of town and were wanting to make something cool. I happened to have 2 extra balls of Boutique Ribbons in Marble and Aurora so I decided to teach them how to make a hand chain scarf.
