Have you thought about what you might do for Knit and Crochet in Public? Grab a few friends, your knitting or crochet, a chair and enjoy a day in the park talking and sharing your work. Knitting and crocheting in public is a great way for people to come together, share ideas and make new friends. There are so many ways groups can come together and use this to beautify an unsightly area or work together on projects for the less fortunate. Make hats & scarves for the homeless, stuffed animals and blankets for needy children, blankets and wraps for senior centers, baby items for hospital … and let’s not forget all those who have recently suffered from all the tornadoes and storms. Most shelters, hospital and senior center are more than glad to accept your donations.
World Wide Knit and Crochet in Public is being celebrated June 9-17, 2012. Check out the World Wide Knit in Public website for more information, or check out World Wide Knit in Public on Facebook . You can enter your country and state if in the US, and it will give you a list of groups with dates on where and when they will meet. Or maybe you might just want to get your own group together. Whether you decide to work on something for yourself or others, it’s a fun day of stitching with friends.
I’ll be working on a sweater this year while attending grandkids graduation.
